The Torus
Forest

50 hectares · Iramaia · Chapada Diamantina

Concept

Pausing the destruction isn't enough — we have to regenerate.

We believe reforesting is a political gesture. Every seedling planted is a concrete answer to a system that knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Our 50 hectares of collective land in Iramaia, on the transition between Atlantic Forest and Cerrado, are the practical stage of this movement — nursery, seedlings, seasonal plantings, monitoring. The forest returns as collective work — slow, georeferenced, alive.

Method

Three paths that cross the forest.

Regeneration doesn't happen by decree — it requires technique, patience and territory. Each axis below sustains the Torus Institute fieldwork.

01

Native species, our own seedlings

We grow seedlings in our own nursery — native species of the Cerrado and the transitional Atlantic Forest. No imports, no generic nursery: every plant is born from the same soil where it will be planted.

02

Living ecological corridor

Plantings are designed as corridors — connecting forest fragments, recovering springs, shading degraded soils and returning passage to the native fauna that has begun to circulate through the area again.

03

Seed Community

Every donation cycle plants one tree in the donor's name. Members of the Seed Community receive a yearly georeferenced seedling — not figurative, real, with coordinates and a photo.

Territory

50 hectares of collective land.

The Torus Forest spans a climatic transition zone — mid-slope of Chapada Diamantina, altitude wetlands, rocky outcrops. A mosaic that demands careful reading before any planting.

Each planting is preceded by soil analysis, identification of nearby springs and mapping of flagship species. The pace is the territory's, not urgency's.

Plant with us

Every R$30 becomes a seedling.

Planting a tree here is not a figurative gesture. It's a real seedling, raised in the nursery, planted in the Chapada soil and georeferenced. You receive a photo, coordinates and growth updates.
